St. Paul, MN - Visitors to the 2009 Great Minnesota Get-Together will enjoy a variety of values and bargains during the fair, Aug. 27 through Labor Day, Sept. 7.
Pre-fair discount admission tickets are $9 and are valid any day of the fair. Also prior to the fair, Mighty Midway and Kidway ride & game tickets are $10 for a sheet of 20, and Blue Ribbon Bargain coupon books are $4.
During the fair, regular admission is $11 for adults (13-64); $9 for seniors (65 & over); and $8 for kids (5-12). Children (under 5) are always admitted free. Mighty Midway and Kidway tickets purchased at the fair are 75 cents per ticket, $20 per sheet of 30 or $30 per sheet of 50. Throughout the fair, Blue Ribbon Bargain Books are $5 and available (while supplies last) at State FairWear Gift Shops and new State Fair Souvenir Kiosks.
Discounted State Fair admission tickets, Mighty Midway and Kidway ride/game tickets and Blue Ribbon Bargain Books are available through Aug. 26 at the State Fair Box Office, participating Minnesota Cub Foods Stores and numerous locations in greater Minnesota and western Wisconsin. Discounted tickets and Bargain Books may also be purchased at mnstatefair.org until 5 p.m. on Aug. 18. The State Fair kicks off with savings for the whole family on Thrifty Thursday, Aug. 27. Admission for adults (13 & over) is $9 and kids (5-12) is $6. Monday, Aug. 31 and Thursday, Sept. 3 are Seniors Days when seniors (65 & over) are admitted for $6. Kids Days are scheduled for Monday, Aug. 31 and Labor Day, Sept. 7, and admission is only $6 for kids (5-12). Tuesday, Sept. 1 is Ticket Deal Tuesday, when adults (13 & over) are admitted for just $9.
New this year, Wednesday, Sept. 2 is Read & Ride Day when guests with library cards are admitted for the following prices: adults (13 & over) $9; seniors (65 & over) $6; and kids (5-12) $6. Discount applies only to individuals presenting a valid public library card when purchasing admission at the gate. One card is required for each discounted admission. All day specials will be offered on Mighty Midway and Kidway rides, games and concessions. In Carousel Park, Minnesota Public Libraries host the "Great Minnesota Read-Together" with free entertainment and activities throughout the day.
Many vendors feature special day deals on Thrifty Thursday, Aug. 27, Seniors & Kids Day, Aug. 31; Seniors Day, Sept. 3; and Kids & Last Chance Day, Sept. 7. Participating vendors will display a special deal sign and are listed in the Deals, Drawings & Giveaways Guide available at all information booths (sponsored by Qwest). Select vendors also feature closeout prices on Kids & Last Chance Day, Sept. 7. Last Chance Day deals will be listed in a special flyer available on Labor Day at State Fair information booths.
Sunset Sunday Savings evening promotion features a minimum of 20% off at participating vendors from 8 p.m. until close on Aug. 30 and Sept. 6.
All-day Mighty Midway and Kidway specials are offered on Thrifty Thursday, Aug. 27; Read & Ride Day, Sept. 2; and Kids Days, Aug. 31 and?Labor Day, Sept. 7. Early Bird specials are offered weekdays until 1 p.m. on all Mighty Midway and Kidway rides, games and concessions.
The State Fair Blue Ribbon Bargain Book features 100 coupons worth over $500 in savings on food, merchandise and attractions. Coupons are valid all 12 days of the fair.
Deals, Drawings & Giveaway Guides, available at all information booths, feature listings of special day deals on food and merchandise, items for $1 or less, freebies, and sign up & win drawings.
This year's State Fair features more free attractions than ever including English and Western Horse Shows; the daily 2 p.m. parade (sponsored by Ford); ShenaniGuns! Comedy Wild West Show; 3rd Lair BMX and skateboarding demos at The X-Zone (sponsored by Coca-Cola); entertainment at Family Fair (sponsored by Thrivent Builds with Habitat for Humanity); High School Rodeo; karaoke in The Garden (sponsored by Treasure Island Resort & Casino); the new Moo Booth; and the nightly fireworks spectacular (sponsored by Select Comfort).
