Influenza is a disease that causes fever, cough, sore throat, headache, tiredness, stuffed-up nose, and body aches. These symptoms can be severe and last for several days. People most at risk for becoming ill from flu are people over age 65, young children, pregnant women, and people with health conditions. The best way to prevent the flu from making you and others ill is by getting a flu vaccination.
Fillmore County Public Health is offering seasonal influenza vaccinations, for people aged 6 months and older, at clinics held the following dates, times, and locations.
October 17 from 2:00 to 4:00 PM at the Community Center located at 225 3rd Avenue SW, Harmony, MN.
October 18 from 2:00 to 4:00 PM at the Thurber Building located at 21 Second Street SE, Chatfield, MN.
The cost of the flu vaccination is $25.00 each. Adults with Medicare Part B and both adults and children with a Minnesota Health Care Plan can receive the flu vaccination free of charge if their insurance cards are presented at the clinic.
