Rushford-Peterson referendum

The Rushford-Peterson School District is very proud to have the support of the communities demonstrated in such a distinguished manner as a passed levy referendum vote. Says Superintendent Chuck Ehler, "The passing of this referendum vote is a tremendous sign from the district residents that they support education and the opportunities provided to our children here at R-P Schools. On behalf of the district, I would like to thank the district residents for their vote of confidence in the work our educators do here for our children."

The passed levy referendum revokes the previous referendum of $840.19 per pupil and replaces it with a ten-year levy authority of $940.19 per pupil, and includes a clause for inflation. This revenue is critical for the district to maintain daily operations, and becomes even more important as the uncertainty of the future of state funding looms. Board of Education Chairman, John Nitecki, echoes the superintendent's thanks to the community and states, "The Board is grateful to the entire R-P Schools community for the support of this important funding measure. Our children are the future, and we are working hard to provide a top-notch, well-rounded educational program for every student in our district."

The Rushford-Peterson Board of Education is holding a special meeting on Monday, November 9, 2009 at 5:30 pm in the high school biology room to canvass the results of the election.
