Fillmore County Public Health (FCPH) will be offering a final round of seasonal influenza immunizations for anyone over the age of six months. These seasonal influenza clinics will be offered in four locations around the county during December. December is not too late to receive a seasonal influenza vaccination and it will help to reduce the spread of illness during the holiday season. The injectable flu vaccine is a DEAD virus, so it is physically impossible for the shot to give you the flu. If you have gotten sick after a flu shot in the past, it was because you were exposed to a live virus three or more days before receiving the vaccine.
The final seasonal flu shot clinics sponsored by FCPH will be held at the following four locations:
December 8th (2:30 to 4:30 PM) at the Thurber Building in Chatfield located at 21 SE 2nd Street.
December 9th (11 AM to 1 PM) at Hillside Apartments in Spring Valley located at 409 South Hudson.
December 9th (3:30 to 6:00 PM) at the Mabel Legion Club located at 114 North Main Street.
December 10th (2:30 to 4:30 PM) at Kenilworth Apartments in Lanesboro located at 607 Kenilworth.
All seasonal flu vaccination clinics in Fillmore County are open to anyone six months of age and older. The cost of the flu shot is $25.00 each. Adults with Medicare Part B or children under age eighteen on MnCare or Medical Assistance can receive the flu shot free of charge if they have their insurance cards with them.
