Eunice Biel of Harmony was elected to represent Minnesota Farmers Union (MFU) at the National Convention in Rapid City, SD, March 14-16. There are four districts in the state, and Eunice will be representing the Southeast section of Minnesota. She was elected at the MFU 68th annual state convention on Sunday, November 22, by other delegates from her district.
"Eunice understands Minnesota Farmers Union policy well, and as a delegate she will do a great job at representing our state on the national level. I congratulate Eunice on her election and look forward to working with her as we advance the working family farm agenda," said Doug Peterson, Minnesota Farmers Union president.
Delegates to the National Convention will be advocating for the following priorities: stronger action on anti-trust issues, and enforcement of anti-trust laws; and strong support for federal health care reform legislation that offers a robust public option that would allow for all legal residents health care that would not be tied to pre-existing conditions.
Minnesota Farmers Union (www.mfu.org) is a nonprofit membership-based organization working to protect and enhance the economic interests and quality of life of family farmers and ranchers, as well as rural communities.
