Scholarships for Midwest Ag Conference

The Fillmore Soil and Water Conservation District (SWCD) is offering three scholarships to attend the Midwest Value Added Agriculture Conference and Wisconsin Local Food Summit in Eau Claire, Wisconsin, January 21-22, 2010. The scholarships include registration fees for three individuals or couples to attend both days of the conference plus hotel accommodations for one night. Conference sessions include topics about local and regional food networks, marketing, and processing, renewable energy such as biodiesel and biomass production, and many other related topics. A full description of the sessions and keynote speakers can be found at www.rivercountryrcd.org/valad.html. The conference is sponsored by the Wisconsin Local Food Network, the Hiawatha Valley Resource Conservation and Development (RC&D) representing southeastern Minnesota, and the River Country RC&D representing southwestern Wisconsin. The location for the conference alternates each year between southeastern Minnesota and southwestern Wisconsin.
