I will be providing additional information on various events in those columns. Additional information and events will also be added to the calendar listed below.
Winter Crops Day will be held at the Wykoff Community Center, 226 Gold Street North, located one block north of the stop sign on Main Street on Thursday, January 14, 2010. Registration starts at 8:30am with the program beginning at 9:00am with the Crop Year in Review.
Topics for the morning include: Tillage and Nutrient Management for Continuous Corn, Soil and Nutrient Management, Pesticides and Water Quality: The Future, and the UM Extension Update. Following lunch, the topics will be Weed Management, Woody Biomass Production & Harvest, Corn Rootworm and Transgenic Corn, Soybean Production, and Corn Production. The meeting will adjourn at 3:00pm.
Please note there is a $30 registration fee which includes handout materials, refreshments and lunch. CEUs for certified crop advisers have been applied for. For more information, contact your local Extension office 507-765-3896 or the SROC at 507-835-3620.
