Country Comfort, LLC, which provides residential and commercial propane service locally through its Selectus Energy Division of Rushford, Minn., received a 2009 Energy Summit Award from CHS Inc., a leading energy, grains and foods company.
"Energy Summit Awards are reserved for outstanding achievement and are especially meaningful during challenging economic times," says Kevin Williams, senior vice president of energy sales at CHS. "We're very pleased to congratulate Country Comfort and recognize their discipline and leadership in providing a safe, reliable propane supply to local homeowners and businesses. They have successfully focused on increasing their operation's efficiency and providing risk management services for customers."
Energy Summit Awards are awarded based on volume growth, local department profitability, program utilization, collaboration, industry leadership and positioning for long-term survival. Country Comfort and four other winners were recognized at the annual Cenex Energy Summit, a gathering of the top 150 CHS energy customers.
Country Comfort, headquartered in Barron, Wis., provides propane services to customers throughout northwest Wisconsin. Selectus Energy, a division of Country Comfort, operates out of Rushford, Minnesota, and provides propane services to customers in southeast Minnesota. The companies are owned by Country Pride Cooperative, Shell Lake Cooperative, Barron Electric Cooperative and Tri-County Electric Cooperative (TEC). Locally, TEC board directors Jenny Scharmer and Roger Hegland, along with TEC president/CEO Brian Krambeer, serve on Country Comfort's board of directors.
