Holiday greetings from the Minnesota Grown Program.
Hope this holiday season finds you all happy & healthy.
We are very thankful that all is good with the Minnesota Grown Program as we conclude 2009. We have appreciated all the personal and professional relationships with Extension and other organizations and staff who supported Minnesota farmers (more specifically, specialty crop growers) in 2009.
We're in the process of renewing grower licenses to use the Minnesota Grown Logo - an annual "labor of love" that brings us back in touch with our members and friends like all of you at Extension offices throughout Minnesota. You may have noticed that we recently celebrated our 1,000th Minnesota Grown member. That was a fun milestone and a proud moment for our staff. We would like to continue to build on our grower membership in 2010, by extending the offer of our marketing assistance to any interested growers of specialty and sustainable crops and livestock and others.
We would greatly appreciate your help in this endeavor.
If you have a newsletter or electronic communication directed at growers, please consider including the attached article - or simply a note - letting them know about us. The deadline for growers to make it into the printed Minnesota Grown Directory is March 1, 2010. The Directory is an economical opportunity for our direct-marketing member growers to get in front of 190,000 consumers statewide in print and another 150,000 online visitors.
We have also had the good fortune to work with MAES and the University folks promoting "Driven to Discover", to provide exposure in our Directory for all the important varietal development (apples, grapes, etc.) being done by your researchers. That support has been appreciated as well, and is critical to funding the printing and distribution of MN Grown Directories to consumers statewide.
Also, if you're interested in ordering 2010 Minnesota Grown Directories for distribution at your office or at consumer or grower events, we would be happy to have those delivered free of charge when they're printed again in April. Order online at www.minnesotagrown.com or give me a jingle any time.
Thank you for your consideration regarding sending a message to your grower audience about MN Grown. We would be happy to look for opportunities to reciprocate whenever it makes sense.
We look forward to working with you to support successful farming and farmers in Minnesota in 2010.
I would be happy to answer any questions.
Kind regards,
Brian
