Austin man dies in hunting accident in Fillmore County

An Austin man has died in an apparent hunting accident in Fillmore County.
According to Fillmore County Sheriff's Office Captain John DeGeorge, deputies located the body of 44-year-old Bernard Olson of Austin, MN at approximately 6:30 p.m. on December 24, 2009. After investigating the report of a missing person, deputies located Olson's vehicle parked on State Land in Beaver Township, and followed a set of tracks in the snow to the location of Olson's body. The initial investigation showed that Olson may have fallen on an arrow and injured himself and was unable to make it back to his vehicle to seek help. Deputies from the Mower County Sheriff's Office assisted in the investigation.
The Leroy area Fire and Ambulance services assisted, as well.
