This winter I am working with Adult Farm Management instructors Dan Miller and Wayne Pike to offer a five-webinar series by Dr. David Kohl. The overall theme of the series will be positioning your business for sustainable success given the new economic realities around the corner (short run) and down the road (long run).
Participants will attend the seminars and complete a series of group or individual actions applied to their own business/situation based upon the subject matter in each webinar. Participants will be asked to submit questions prior, during, and after the webinars that will be elaborated upon with farm management articles.
Each webinar will begin with a quick update on key relevant issues in agriculture or the economy. A short exercise will follow each webinar.
Dr. David M. Kohl will be the primary presenter. He is Professor Emeritus, Agricultural and Applied Economics, Virginia Tech University.
The Webinar topics include: January 11th, Dashboard Macro Economics & Strategic Risk; February 1st, Working Capital and Risk Management; February 8th, Dashboard Financial Ratios; March 1st, Is Your Business Farm Credit-able/Bank-able/FSA-able?; and March 15th, Transition Management.
All five sessions will be held at the County Office Building, 902 Houston Street NW, Room 108 in Preston. The sessions are scheduled to run from 11:30 am - 2:00 pm.
