F & M Community Bank promotes Aug to President

Daniel M. Christianson, chief executive officer and chairman of the board of F & M Community Bank, Preston, MN, announced the promotion of Charles Aug. The bank's Board of Directors, at its January meeting, elected Aug president and chief operating officer effective February 1, 2010. According to Christianson, "This promotion recognizes Chuck's 28 years of contributions and dedication to F & M Community Bank and provides him and others in the organization with additional responsibilities and challenges. This move is possible, in part, because of how well we have weathered the recent financial and economic downturn. We're fortunate to be able to provide these development opportunities for our employees."
While Christianson will retain his duties of executive oversight of fiscal and operational activities and community outreach as well as continuing as chairman of the board, Aug will be responsible for day-to-day operations of the bank. "I look forward to partnering with Dan as we transition these duties, and I appreciate the confidence and willingness Dan and the board show in electing me to this position," said Aug. "Customers and the communities we serve should see very little change in how we serve them."
F & M Community Bank is a locally-owned community bank which was founded in 1911 and is based in Preston, MN, with a branch office in Chatfield, MN.
