Footloose is Chatfield's Western Days 2010 musical

Wits' End Theatre has chosen Footloose for its 2010 Western Days musical. The play is billed as "the most successful rock & roll musical," and is loaded with dancing roles, mostly for teenagers. The story involves a group of teens pushing the authorities in a small town to give up a ban on dances that has been in force for several years.
Footloose will be directed and choreographed by Kathleen Keech, highly accomplished in both disciplines and a veteran of many productions in Rochester and also in several Chatfield musicals produced in past years by Western Days Musical Productions.
Open auditions will be held on Memorial Day (May 31), at 6:00 p.m. at Potter Auditorium, Fifth and Main Streets in Chatfield. Rehearsal will begin the last week in June, and performances will be August 11-14 at Potter. Watch for more details as audition time nears. Participants from any community within driving range are welcomed. For more information, contact witsendtheatre@gmail.com.
Wits' End Theatre is Chatfield's community theatre organization and is devoted to producing high-quality musicals involving participants from the greater community, both on stage and off. "It takes a great many individuals with a variety of skills to put on the kind of major productions offered by Wits' End," says Ed Jackson, chairman of the organization. "From putting up posters to set construction and painting, to publicity, music and acting, there are literally hundreds of tasks that need to be carried out. Whatever your interests, talents and skills, from administration to carpentry to singing and dancing, we encourage as much involvement from the community as possible."
An adjunct of Chatfield Schools Community Education, Wits' End Theatre functions as an educational organization to teach and encourage the development of theatre arts in the area by producing quality musical theatre in Chatfield.
