Sunday, March 14 from 2 - 4 p.m., Lanesboro Local will host a local foods "speed-dating" Buyer/Grower Exchange at The Cottage House Inn, 209 Parkway Avenue N in Lanesboro. "It's an opportunity for local farmers, gardeners and food producers to meet local food servers and sellers, B&Bs, chefs and cooks," said Nancy Martinson, board president of Lanesboro Local.

This fast, easy meet-&-greet event lets growers connect and make plans with area food buyers who are looking to source their menus with fresh, local foods. It's an excellent opportunity for both buyers and growers to work together as they make plans for the season ahead. This 2-hour event promises to make the efforts involved in the growing and serving of local food more predictable and profitable for everyone all season long.

It's a chance to make new connections and renew old ones. Growers will find outlets for goods and attract customer loyalty before the growing season even begins. Buyers will find local sources for farm-raised meats, poultry and eggs, canned, pickled and preserved goods, signature crops and ingredients that will help build a unique business image and reputation.

Lanesboro Local Marketplace is please to sponsor this important exchange. The Marketplace is now open for limited hours at their new location next door to the Cottage House Inn at 207 Parkway Avenue N (former location of Bluffscape Gallery & Gifts). Lanesboro Local will be happy to serve as a central drop-off and pick-up connection that makes local foods more accessible.

"This event," according to Martinson, " is an expression of our mission, which is to help both producers and consumers in Southeastern Minnesota communities to thrive!"
