Ag producers interested in learning more about how to use cover crops in their own operations have an opportunity to learn from the experience of other farmers. A panel of local farmers will highlight their experiences with cover crops at a meeting on Wednesday, March 10, in Room HB117 at the Heintz Center, 863 30th Ave SE, Rochester. The meeting begins at 9:00 a.m. Lunch will be provided at no charge to all attendees. The farmers on the panel have seen the benefits of using cover crops following corn silage or canning crops or using them in organic operations. Other presenters will provide findings from some of the latest research on cover crops and funding sources for implementing the practice. For more information, or to RSVP for lunch, please call 507-765-3878, ext. 3.
