Christ Lutheran invites everyone to our Holy Week services beginning on Sunday, March 28, with the Palm/Passion Sunday 9am worship. This service will be led by a group of men from our congregation portraying the passion story with congregational participation. Young and old are invited to process in carrying palms.
Thursday, April 1, at 7pm will be the Maundy Thursday service with Holy Communion and the Stripping of the Altar.
Friday, April 2, at 7pm will be the Good Friday Tenebrae Service. Tenebrae means darkness or shadows. This is the night we remember Jesus' suffering and death. Without Jesus' death, there would be no resurrection, so before we reach Easter, we need to understand Good Friday. Members of our church council will read the Passion scripture, as we gradually extinguish the candles until only the Christ candle remains lit to symbolize Christ's victory over death. We leave the church in silence.
Sunday, April 4, is our Easter Sunday celebration with 7am Sunrise Service, 8am Easter breakfast and 9am Easter Festival Worship with Holy Communion.
