Mankato, Minn. (April 6, 2010) - The AgStar Fund for Rural America, a corporate giving program for AgStar Financial Services, is proud to once again offer a $50,000 grant program to support County Fair Facility Upgrades. The mission of this program is to support county fair organizations as they repair fairground livestock buildings, 4-H buildings, or livestock judging arenas. Each county, in AgStar's local service area, can apply for up to $2,500 to be used toward repairs on fairground agricultural buildings.
This program was designed to support county fairs in their effort to maintain adequate facilities for fair patrons. "To date, AgStar has contributed over $100,000 to this grant program," stated Jody Bloemke, AgStar's fund administrator. "Many of these structures are in need of yearly repair and maintenance and the AgStar Fund is proud to provide financial support to help maintain the buildings."
Since it's inception in 2001, the AgStar Fund has donated more than $2.9 million to organizations working to improve the future of rural America. The Fund's mission is to "enhance the quality of life and future opportunities for rural residents and their communities." The Fund focuses on four key areas of support including: Education, Technology, Environment and Quality of Life. Applications for grants are available online at www.AgStar.com
