An Environmental Assessment Worksheet (EAW) has been prepared to study the potential environmental impacts of expansion of the Valley View Campground, which is nestled along Watson Creek, one mile north of Preston. Valley View Campground is an existing campground permitted for 49 sites, which opened in 2007. The Valley View Campground Expansion will phase in 49 additional campsites to bring the total to 98 permitted campsites.
The document is open for public comment until May 19th, 2010. A copy of the document is available for viewing at the Fillmore County Zoning Office, 101 Fillmore (P.O. Box 655), Preston MN 55965 (507-765-3325), the Preston Public Library, 101 St Paul St NW, Preston, MN 55965 (507-765-4511) and the Rochester Public Library, 101 2nd Street SE, Rochester, MN (507-285-8000), during regular business hours.
Comments must be in writing and must address the accuracy and completeness of the material contained in the EAW, and potential impacts that may warrant further study before the project is commenced.
Comments should be submitted in writing to Chris Graves, Fillmore County Zoning Administrator, P.O. Box 655, Preston MN 55965.
