The wood shingles at the historic Lenora United Methodist Church are in need of replacement. Soon, the over 20-year old cedar shingles are coming off and new, grade #1 cedar shingles will protect the venerable church building from the weather. Also, repair is planned for the meeting space / restroom in the small house adjacent to the church building. The Leadership Committee, which over-sees and cares for the old church, is committed to taking good care of the National Register Historic Church Building. Although a tall order, the committee is hoping to raise about $40,000.00 in a special campaign to provide long-range care and improvement for the 1856 Lenora Church building and to allow it to be enjoyed by more people by providing better accessibililty and restroom facilities. Interested persons may give financial contributions made out to Lenora United Methodist Church and send them to the church's treasurer, Diana Fitch at PO. Box 415 Mabel, MN 55954.
