Soar like an eagle! We have all admired the American Bald Eagle from afar as it soars through the sky. It is our national symbol. But, at the Whalan Stand Still Parade you can admire an eagle up close and learn about its habits and habitat.
The National Eagle Center staff from Wabasha and a live eagle will be presenting an entertaining and educational program during the parade from 11 a.m. - 12 noon on Saturday, May 15 in Whalan.
This year is our 15th - 15th... our 15th annual Stand Still Parade on May 15th, and this program will add an extra special highlight to the day's festivities. Bring the kids. Bring Grandma. Bring Grandpa. Bring the whole family. Everyone will enjoy it and many other activities.
The Stand Still Parade committee, in partnership with the Lanesboro Public Library, has received funds for this project from the vote of the people of Minnesota on November 4, 2008, which dedicated funding to preserve Minnesota's arts and cultural heritage.
