A Day of Prayer is Not Enough

"I urge then first of all, that requests, prayers, intercession and thanksgiving be made for everyone--for kings and all those in authority....This is good and pleases God our Savior, who wants all men to be saved and to come to a knowledge of the truth." 1 Timothy 2:1-2 NIV
A recent federal court decision condemned the National Day of Prayer as a promotion of religion. Our government has allowed us the freedom to have differing beliefs without sanction. Whether there is a National Day of Prayer or not, we who believe will pray. Prayer is motivated out of a relationship with God which many who oppose religious belief cannot understand.
What is prayer? It is talking with God. Can we view the intricacies of nature and not sense the intelligence behind its creation? Can we face life and death without some God given sense of right and wrong? With all that is wrong in our world, why wouldn't you to talk with God for whom nothing is impossible? To bring release from the guilty of mistakes we make, God provided a Savior in Jesus. For Christians we can't stop thanking God.
That is why we make requests, prayers intercession and thanksgiving for you, for our government and its leaders, for the well-being of everyone. A National Day of Prayer isn't enough time to pour out all that we wish to ask of, speak about or commend to God's care. You may see people praying before meals, at times of calamity or just making time for God during a busy day. You welcome to join us any day and anywhere. Want to learn why we need to pray?
