Rushford, MN (2:40 p.m. May 4, 2010)- A house move scheduled for Monday, May 10 in areas north and west of Harmony will cause brief power outages to Tri-County Electric Cooperative (TEC) members along the route between 9 a.m. to 11 a.m.

TEC line crews will be turning off electricity to overhead power lines crossing roadways of the house move route to ensure the home reaches its destination without causing an electric safety hazard. There are three major power line crossings with each scheduled to cause a 15 minute power outage. There will also be a number of shorter outages lasting anywhere from 5 to 10 minutes.

The route will start four miles north of Bristol Center on 241st Avenue and travel south turning east onto Township Road 20. Then the route goes south onto Township Road 15. The home will then travel east onto County Road 44 until reaching its destination at the west edge of Harmony.

Drivers are reminded to use alternative routes during the timeframe of the move because there will be no room for passing the home while it's en route.

TEC is a member-owned electric distribution cooperative serving three counties in Minnesota including Winona, Houston and Fillmore and parts of Olmsted and Mower counties in Minnesota and Howard, Winneshiek and Allamakee counties in Iowa. It provides electricity to more than 12,800 services in the area. TEC is a Touchstone Energy Cooperative.
