The Commonweal Theatre Company announces five performances of its 2010 productions that are free to employees and residents of Fillmore and Houston counties. Anyone living and/or working in those counties may attend Ibsen's classic drama, John Gabriel Borkman on Thursday, April 22nd; the wild Steve Martin comedy, Picasso at the Lapin Agile on Thursday, May 20th; a heartwarming drama Enchanted April on Thursday, June 24th; the haunting The Turn of the Screw on Monday, October 4th; and the family-friendly favorite, Little Women on Thursday, November 18th. All evening performances begin at 7:30 p.m.
While admission to the performances is free of charge, reservations are strongly recommended. Free Fillmore/Free Houston Nights are made possible with support from the Preston Area Community Foundation, members of Commonweal Theatre's Million Dollar Club, Board of Directors, and individual donors. A grant request for additional support is pending from the Minnesota State Arts Board with funds from the Arts and Cultural Legacy Amendment.
The Commonweal is a non-profit professional theatre, now occupying its new home at 208 Parkway Avenue North in downtown Lanesboro. For more information about the 2010 season, visit www.commonwealtheatre.org. To reserve tickets for a free performance, contact the box office at 507-467-2525 or tickets@commonwealtheatre.org.
