Friday, September 5th is First Friday at ArtHaus in Decorah (508 W. Water St) from 7-9PM with an artist reception for “Monkey Lisa”, an exhibit of artwork from one of ArtHaus’s new Co-Directors, Eric Petersen-Brant.

Filling the space of ArtHaus will be a selection of the artists’ colorful and playful paintings, side-by-side with earthy pottery and enigmatic sculpture. Many of the pieces will be for sale with a percentage of the proceeds supporting ArtHaus. Sponsored by KDEC, the event is free and open to the public.

Petersen-Brant has exhibited extensively over the past 15 years, and has a unique background in sculpture fabrication, public art installation, and in arts education. A lover of the earth and all animals, he has travelled widely throughout the United States, Alaska, and New Zealand, and lived in more than 10 states in the mountain West, most recently relocating to Decorah in June to take the helm of ArtHaus with his wife and fellow artist, Jenni.

‘Monkey Lisa” will run through the month of September. ArtHaus is open from 10 AM to 2 PM Monday, Wednesday, and Friday, and by appointment.

ArtHaus is Decorah's home for the arts bringing visual, performing, and literary art together, offering creative programs for all ages. ArtHaus is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. All contributions and donations to ArtHaus are tax deductible.
