Highway 43 detour for culvert repair south of Rushford postponed

ROCHESTER, Minn. – A planned one-day detour on Highway 43 south of Rushford has been delayed by weather and will likely be started on Monday, weather permitting.

Motorists on Highway 43 south of Rushford will encounter a detour as Minnesota Department of Transportation crews replace a culvert. The work was originally planned for today, Thursday, Aug. 21, but rainy weather forced the postponement of the work.

The detour from the south directs traffic west on Fillmore County Road 37 to Fillmore County Road 107 west to Fillmore County Road 25 north to Highway 16 east until it connects with Highway 43.

With this project, MnDOT is working to preserve an efficient and effective transportation system. The closure allows workers and motorists to remain safe and keep the closure time to a minimum.

MnDOT urges motorists to always be attentive, drive with caution, slow down in work zones and never enter a road blocked with barriers or cones.
