Marilyn Trouten, age 78 of Harmony, Minn. died Friday, July 18, 2014 at her home in Harmony.

Marilyn was born May 22, 1936 in Harmony to Merlin and Margaret (Roelofs) Scrabeck. She graduated from Harmony High School in 1954 and worked at Lutheran Brotherhood in Minneapolis, Minn. for two years.

Marilyn married Robert Trouten on June 7, 1958 at Greenfield Lutheran Church, Harmony. For many years she was a bookkeeper at Trouten Implement in Harmony. She also operated the Harmony Tourism office for over 15 years along with many other gigs. Marilyn was very active in the community and donated her time to do volunteer work for the Harmony Historical Society, Community Theatre and the Community Band. She was a lifelong member of Greenfield Lutheran Church and sang in the Choir. Marilyn loved music, was an avid reader and enjoyed taking care of her family.

Marilyn is survived by her husband Robert Trouten of Harmony; four children: Bill (Renita) Trouten of Minnetonka, Minn., Scott (Lorrie) Trouten of Harmony, Rachel (Blair) Peterson of Eagan, Minn., Jason (Jessica) Trouten of South St. Paul, Minn.; Six grandchildren: Hope Marlow, Blair, Jacob and Zachery Peterson, Rylan and Chase Trouten; One great-grandchild, Mason Stenzel; Six siblings: Jerald (Cheryl) Scrabeck of Rochester, Minn., Carol (Robert) Miller of Harmony, Ronald (Nancy) Scrabeck of Harmony, Arlyn (Linda) Scrabeck of Chatfield, Minn., Danny (Nancy) Scrabeck of Elkton, Minn., Cindy (Mike) Beltz of Minnetonka; an uncle, Clayton Roelofs of Rushford, Minn.; and many nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents.

Funeral Services will be at 2 p.m., Tuesday, July 22 at Greenfield Lutheran Church in Harmony. Interment will follow in Greenfield Cemetery. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday at the Lindstrom Funeral Home in Harmony and at the church for an hour prior to services.
