Minneapolis, MN: The Minnesota Association of Museums is pleased to announce "The Summit at Summit: A Celebration of Minnesota's Arts, Cultural, and Heritage Fund," organized for museum professionals and all Minnesotans working in the arts, culture and heritage preservation sectors. Sponsored by Summit Brewery and Mid America Business Systems with additional support from Exhibit Development Group, the event will be held at the Summit Brewery in Saint Paul on Thursday, June 3rd from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m.

The Summit is an evening of celebration, information, and socializing meant to foster goodwill, understanding, and collaborations among all of Minnesota's arts, culture, and heritage professionals. Opening with brief presentations by leaders and funding agencies, a moderated discussion based on participant questions follows, and the evening concludes with socializing over complimentary Summit beers, beverages and hors d'oeuvres.

Event speakers include leaders from: Minnesota Citizen's for the Arts, The State Arts Board, Minnesota Historical Society, Metropolitan Library Service Agency, Minnesota Public Radio, Twin Cities Public Television, and others.

The Summit is a first of its kind event for both paid staff and volunteers working in museums, art centers, libraries, cultural centers, zoos, tourism offices, etc., and aims to foster new collaborations encouraged by the Arts, Culture, and Heritage Fund. "The Arts, Culture, and Heritage Fund, pumping new money into arts and cultural heritage programs presents exciting opportunities for Minnesota citizens. But many questions remain as new programs are formulated and existing programs revised. The Summit at Summit is a forum for information exchange and networking, bringing together museum professionals with representatives of various funding agencies charged with translating legislation into program opportunities," states Minnesota Association of Museums President Laurel Bradley. Peter Olson concurs, "The Minnesota Association of Museums, which was established over thirty years ago, is perfectly situated to attract professionals from all sectors of the culture arena. As Advocacy Coordinator, it is a pleasure to foster collaboration and goodwill in the wake of the Arts, Culture, and Heritage Fund."

The Summit at Summit is free to all Minnesota Association of Museum members, $10 for non-members, and will be held in the Ratskeller space at Summit Brewery, 910 Montreal Circle, Saint Paul, MN 55102.
