To quote and old TV show, "I love it when a plan comes together!"

It just keeps getting better! I might be talking about the beautiful weather we had last Tuesday during the fourth grade Farm Safety Day Camp at the Mabel Steam Engine Grounds, or the enthusiasm of the students, or the excellent response I received from teachers about the presentations. It takes a lot of community support to make an event like this possible!

And now, these are the people I would like to thank!

The 393 students, their teachers, and chaperones from 12 schools, the fourth grade classes from Fillmore Central, Houston, Rushford-Peterson, Lanesboro, St. John's Wykoff, St. John's Caledonia, St. Mary's Caledonia, Chatfield, Mabel-Canton, Spring Grove, La Crescent, Crucifixion La Crescent, and fourteen independent students. The city of Mabel provided much needed support from the EMT ambulance crew, fire department, and use of the Steam Engine Grounds. Plus, the Hesper-Mabel Historical Old Barn is a great place to serve lunch.

Special thanks to their respective FFA Advisors Dennis Rud, Brad Harguth, and Karen Tisthammer.

Other organizations providing food included Kwik Trip-bananas; Houston DHIA, Houston ADA, and the Fillmore ADA-Milk; Rushford, Harmony, Preston Foods provided the chips.
