Gordon “Gordy” Kallis, age 55, of Mabel, Minn. died Thursday, April 10, 2014.

Gordy was born November 3, 1958 in Caledonia, Minn. to Rodney and Beverly (Holland) Kallis. He graduated from the Mabel-Canton High School in 1977. On August 26, 1984 he married Sara Sagdalen at the Little Brown Church in Nassua, Iowa. They later divorced. He lived his entire life in the Mabel area and farmed and worked construction in the area. He enjoyed working and farming, especially working with livestock.

Gordy is survived by two daughters Amy (Sam) Nelson of Chatfield, Minn. and Kelly (Trent) Eide of Lanesboro, Minn.; two grandchildren Nolan and Norah Eide; his mother Beverly of Spring Grove, Minn.; brothers and sisters Kevin of Rochester, Minn., Jeffrey (Cindy) of Rochester, Joni (Deb Groth) of Rochester, Mike of Caledonia, and Steve (Gina) of Owatonna, Minn.; a niece; 3 nephews; and many cousins, aunts, and uncles. He was preceded in death by his father Rodney; and grandparents Jay and Beulah Kallis, and James and Palma Holland.

Memorial services were on Tuesday, April 15, 2014 at the Scheie Lutheran Church in rural Mabel with the Rev. Mary Waudby officiating. Inurnment was in the Faith Lutheran Cemetery in Blackhammer, Minn.
