Rosemary “Rosie” Reicks

Rosemary “Rosie” Reicks, age 75 of Harmony, Minn. died Sunday, January 26, 2014 at her home in Harmony.

Rosie was born May 31, 1938 in Scheffield, North Dakota the daughter of Joseph and Eugenia (Selinger) Olheiser. She attended St. Pius Catholic School in Scheffield. In 1958 she moved to Rochester, Minn. to work as a Dietary Aide at St. Mary’s Hospital. It was in Rochester that she met Virgil Reicks. They were married on June 8, 1961 at St. Pius Catholic Church in Scheffield. In 1962 they started farming in Fillmore County where they lived until 1999 when they moved to Harmony. Rosie retired as a Nurses Aide in 2004 from the Harmony Care Center where she worked for 37 years. Rosie enjoyed crocheting, scrapbooking, working on her genealogy and was known for the donuts and rolls she made.

Rosie is survived by her husband Virgil of Harmony; 3 children: Lois (Neil) Halverson of Mabel, Minn., Jim (Renee) Reicks of Harmony and Wayne Reicks of Harmony; 4 grandchildren: Laura, Ryan, Sarah and Andrew; 4 siblings: Nick (Cecilia) Olheiser of Dickinson, North Dakota, Veronica Messer of Anoka, Minn., Agnes Job of Wibaux, Montana and Leo (Jeanette) Olheiser of Dickinson, North Dakota; and a sister-in-law, Katie Olheiser of Dickinson, North Dakota. Rosie is preceded in death by her parents; 3 siblings: Tillie (Joseph) Messer, John (Dorothy) Olheiser and Michael Olheiser; and a brother-in-law: Norbert Job.

Memorial Services will be Saturday, February 1, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at Nativity Catholic Church in Harmony. Inurnment will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Canton, Minn. Friends may call on Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until time of services at the church. Lindstrom Funeral Home in Harmony is assisting the family.
