When should I contact an attorney after an automobile accident?

As soon as possible. The longer you wait after an accident, the more things start to work against you, not the least of which is the statute of limitations. If you delay seeking treatment for injuries, that delay may hinder your ability to prove that the injuries were caused by the accident. You will also be required to give statements to the insurance company, and you will want to speak to an attorney before that statement is given. Finally, there may be witnesses who should be contacted as soon as possible after the accident before their memory of the incident fades, and there could be other time sensitive evidence to preserve. If you’ve been involved in an accident, contact our office for assistance.
