The Chatfield Elementary School is pleased to welcome Dave Nachmanoff, an award -winning singer/songwriter, as our artist-in-resident from November 15 to November 20. The residency will involve all fourth and fifth graders as they work with Dave on the process of creating lyrics and writing songs. The residency will culminate in a public performance on Wednesday, November 20 at 1:30 p.m. in the elementary gym. The public is invited to attend.

Nachmanoff has worked in schools all over the country and has helped thousands of kids to share their ideas, actively participate, and use their creativity and teamwork to write cross-curriculum songs about topics they are studying. His relaxed and warm style invites classes to push their limits, embrace teamwork, and surprise themselves.

In addition to his own solo career, Nachmanoff is the guitarist and harmony vocalist for Al Stewart and will be coming to Chatfield at the end of an East Coast tour with Stewart. He has produced numerous solo albums and plays on Al Stewart’s newest album “Uncorked”. He will perform a concert on Thursday, November 14 in Spring Grove, and on Friday, November 15 in Chatfield at the Chosen Bean Concert Series.

This residency is made possible with the financial support of the Chatfield Athletic Club, the Root River State Bank and the F and M Community Bank, the Chatfield Booster Club and Chatfield Public Schools. Thank you!
