Friends of the Lanesboro Public Library to host scholastic book fair event

The Friends of the Lanesboro Public Lanesboro will host a Scholastic Book Fair Thursday, November 14 through Saturday, November 16 at the Lanesboro Community Center. Thursday and Friday the hours of the sale will be 3-6 p.m., Saturday the hours will be 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Funds raised will help purchase books for the Lanesboro Public Library. Community members are invited to attend this fun reading event that helps inspire children to become lifelong readers.

The Book Fair will feature special events, including juggling lessons with Tom Barnes and Peter Torkelson, both of Lanesboro, on Thursday and Friday nights and a magic show on Saturday at 11 a.m. Joe Swicklik of “Not Your Average Magician” will perform a family friendly show and teach participants a trick or two to try on their own. This event is free and open to the public.

In addition to the book fair at the Lanesboro Community Center, community members are also invited to order books from the online book fair. Books purchased online also benefit the Lanesboro Public Library. To purchase books online go to:


The Book Fair will be open on Thursday, November 14 and Friday, November 15 from 3-6 p.m., and on Saturday, November 16 from 10 a.m.-4 p.m.


The Lanesboro Community Center Basement is located at 202 Parkway Avenue South in Lanesboro.


The Book Fair offers specially priced books and educational products, including popular series, award-winning titles, new releases, adult bestsellers, and other great reads from more than 100 publishers.

Book Fair customers may help the Lanesboro Public Library by purchasing books through the online book fair, which can be found at:

matches monetary donations with a donation of up to one million books, which go to national non-profit organizations dedicated to helping families in need, such as the Kids in Distressed Situations and Kids In Need Foundation.
