Monitor the moisture levels of your corn silage and high moisture corn, and harvest it at the proper moisture levels. For corn silage, we recommend 60-69% moisture and 26-34% moisture for HMC. If either gets too dry, digestibility will be impacted.

Once it's harvested, save more of the nutrients by using a silage inoculant or acid-based stabilizer. I recommend NutriSave 5 bacterial inoculant for greater corn silage stability and Silage Savor Plus, an organic acid-based silage stabilizer for forage crops and high moisture ground corn. Greater stability results in less spoilage, more available nutrients, greater palatability, and higher dry matter intake. The result: higher production and potentially a better return on your investment.
