ExpoCulinaria 2013 was cookin’

Despite the day’s temperatures reaching the high 90’s, ExpoCulinaria--An Experience of Taste was relished by attendees sampling at the many restaurant and vendors tables, shopping artisan exhibits, listening to a diversity of music and cheering on the guest chef competitors at the annual ‘Bring it to the Table’ competition cook-off in Rushford, Minn. on September 7.

The culinary knowledge and talents of the chefs was put to the fire under the big top in downtown Rushford as they created an array of scrumptious appetizers, entrees and desserts. Utilizing an unknown pantry of food and surprise ingredients in a limited amount of time, the chefs vied for top honors and prizes from a panel of three guest judges. The winner achieved the highest point score for presentation, creativity and taste.

A thrilled Chef Madeline Dubois from Signature’s in Winona, Minn. went home with the honor of being named winner for 2013. Dubois received the ‘Diamond Chef’ plaque, a $300 award and an ExpoCulinaria 2013 patch for her Chef’s coat. Second place winner Lisa Yunker from Tilly’s in Oronoco, Minn. received a $150 award.

Patrons now can’t wait to see what the ExpoCulinaria Co-chairs dish up for 2014.
