The Chatfield Brass Band invites everyone to come on down to the Chatfield City Park as they go "South of the Border" during their second concert in the park on Thursday, June 17th, at 7:30 p.m. Program selections include: South of the Rio, Jamaican Rumba, West Side Story, and Zacatecas March. The Mexican Hat Dance will feature the children in the audience playing rhythm instruments with the band.
Paul Maybery, who plays tuba with the band, will perform his own arrangement of Carioca for tuba and band. Also included in the program is a jazz quartet composed of Curt Peterson, Jerry Barret, Roy Cerling, and Jim Mitchelizzi. Their selections will be Cherry Pink and Apple Blossom White and Girl from Ipanema.
The concerts are free and family friendly! Refreshments will be sold by the Root River Rabbits 4-H Club and drawings will be held for restaurant gift certificates. Bring your lawn chairs and join the fun.
