On the heels of a 2012 sell-out, celebrated success and the rave reviews of participants and patrons, ExpoCulinaria—An Experience of Taste, will for its third year fill the streets of downtown Rushford, Minn. on Saturday evening, September 7, rain or shine.

Created to showcase food talents and experience the tastes of Rushford’s local restaurants, grocery and beverage vendors, this delectable culinary event is sponsored by the Rushford Area Chamber of Commerce. The 4-8 p.m. event will also coincide with the Taste of the Trail events in September in communities along the state Root River Biking Trail.

ExpoCulinaria guests will dine, sample and sip from mouthwatering fresh, distinctive and ethnic hors d’oeuvres, cheeses, breads, desserts, spreads, wines, beers, sodas and more. In addition to 2013 vendor delights, and a feast their ears by the live music of CBB Jazz Combo, attendees can shop the tables of area artists and craftsmen.

The big show of the evening, as entertaining as it is appetizing is the Chef Challenge, Bring It to the Table. This outdoor event is a culinary competition between professional chefs intent on creating and preparing scrumptious appetizer, entrée and dessert plates utilizing surprise ingredients. The plates will be sampled and judged by a panel of three fortunate guest judges. The Expo C committee is excited that 2013 will be the first year of a culinary battle between women chefs. Stay tuned for coming details on the Rochester, Minn. and Winona, Minn. area chefs and judges!

Prizes will be awarded to ticket registrants following the Chef Challenge.

New under the Chef’s big top on Jessie Street will be Master of Ceremonies Deb Brague of WLXR Magic 105 of LaCrosse, Wis. Brague has been with LaCrosse Radio Group since 2001 and is the Operations Manager there as well Program Director for Magic 105 and Today’s Talk, 1490AM. Says Braque, ‘My career gives me the opportunity to give back in so many ways by offering my time and talents as an emcee, for announcements at concerts, athletic events and even Gala’s and special dinners. I am blessed to have an understanding family and a rewarding career!’

Brague grew up in LaCrosse and attended UWL back in the mid 80’s. From there she relocated to the Twin Cities to pursue her broadcasting education at Brown Institute. Her first job in radio took her to Oshkosh, Wis. in 1991. She met her husband and his two daughters there and the couple was married in February of 1992. Brague and her husband Paul now have three daughters and three granddaughters.

‘The ExpoCulinaria committee is very pleased to have Brague as the emcee for the 2013 event’, says co-chair Terri Benson. ‘With her outgoing personality and presence with people and the public, we are confident in Deb’s ability to perform this role’.
