It’s already July, Independence Day has come and gone quickly, but don’t fret! There is still more summer left to relish the festivities in Southeast Minnesota. The city of Rushford, Minn. has been preparing for another fun and entertaining celebration from July 15-21! For anyone who plans to attend, this celebration is sure to please. Rushford Days will be packed with an array of attractions and events.

So what can you do during this week downtown Rushford? Well, how about on the night of Monday, July 15 at 7 pm you can support the Rushford Days Queen candidates at the annual pageant being held in the high school gymnasium to see who will be crowned. Do you like watching classic and antique cars? Head on down to the Ferndale CC to Car Cruise Night on Wednesday evening at 6 pm! Are you feeling adventurous to please the palate by trying different wines with friends? At the American Legion, there is wine tasting from 6-8:30 pm on Thursday. Seems like this week will be off to a good start!

Stick around or come back for the weekend because it will be packed with loads of things to do! Get the family up early on Saturday morning and take a trip to the airport for the Fly-In with an opportunity to ride in one at 7 am! Maybe you prefer the night scene with loud cars along with a cheering crowd to bring more thrills in your life. The Burn Out from 8-9 pm on Friday is the best time to have that fun.

Want some excitement earlier in the day? Attend the Tractor Pull at noon on Saturday (both events will be located at the Fest Grounds). For those with kids, make sure to bring them to Rushford because there will be plenty of activities to keep them entertained! The Fest Grounds will host pony rides from 5-7 pm on Friday, kid games/inflatables on Saturday at noon-5 pm and a Pedal Tractor Pull at 9:30 am.

Are you not in the mood to cook breakfast on a Sunday morning before or after church? Stop by the Montini Hall at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church for the waffle breakfast at 8 am. What a great way to complete the last day of Rushford Days by starting off with a good breakfast and to take in the last few events!

There are some new events happening this year! The Rush Creek Longbeards of the National Turkey Federation is sponsoring “Jakes Take Aim” BB gun range at 10 am on Saturday. Along with that, there will be a 5k run/walk sponsored by Rushford Operation Christmas Child also on Saturday at 7 am. If you want to take a complete look at the schedule of Rushford Days with all the events, visit the website http://rushfest.org/ to start planning your venture out to Rushford! The community has a great deal to offer and will be a celebration to remember. Whether you are just passing through or want to plan a family outing, consider going to Rushford Days after your 4th of July festivities!
