Cowboy Church Continues in Cherry Grove

Fri, Jun 28th, 2013
Posted in All Faith & Worship

On Sunday evening, July 7, the Cherry Grove United Methodist Church will again be offering a “Cowboy Church” service open to all who may be interested. The service, which will begin at 6pm, generally includes Bluegrass, Country and Cowboy music along with older gospel hymns. Several of our regular musicians will be with us this month anchored by Barb Mosher on the steel guitar. Our new Pastor, David Lieder, will be joining us for his first Cowboy Church service as a musician.

A staple of many Cowboy Church services in other parts of the country is that anyone who is interested can bring their instruments and take part in the service, either by helping to lead singing or by providing special music. Any musicians interested in participating should plan to arrive at least one hour before the service, or you can call the church ahead of time to let us know you’ll be coming.

The next Cowboy Church service in Cherry Grove, Minn. following the July 7 program is scheduled for Sunday, August 4, at 6pm.

The Cherry Grove church is twelve miles southeast of Spring Valley, one block east of County Road 5, or you can call the Parish office at 507-346-2830 or the Cherry Grove Church office on Sunday afternoon at 507-937-3177 for directions.

All are welcome to attend. Dress western and wear your best hat!
