Local photographer attends 2013 session of Mid-America Institute of Professional Photography

Ross Himlie of Rushford, Minn. participated in the 31st session of M.A.I.P.P. The institute utilizes the facilities of the University of Northern Iowa to bring this unique educational experience to photographers. Students study with one of six nationally recognized photographers that are teaching in different fields of photography.

Himlie’s week was with Dan Frievalt with the main emphasis on “The Artistic Senior Experience” Subjects offered are those that will advance the individual photographer in their particular field, including the latest digital techniques, wedding, portrait and fine art photography as well as sales and marketing skills.

Photographers from 12 states were represented in this 33rd year of the institute, which is held for one week only during the year.
