Harmony in the Park Summer concert series

The Harmony Park Board will be kicking off their 9th annual Summer Concert Series - "Harmony in the Park" - on Wednesday, June 23. Folk/country musician Charlie Warner will begin playing at 7:00 PM at the Selvig Park Gazebo. As an added attraction for the concert series kick-off, the Harmony Area Chamber of Commerce will be hosting a 'Family Fun Night' in Selvig Park. An ECFE Bounce House and Games will begin at 4:30, and a SELCO-sponsored Clown Show, 'A Touch of Magic - the Half Pint and Oscar Show' starts at 5:00 PM. Food will be served by Harmony Chamber members from 5:30 - 7:30, with proceeds benefitting the 2010 4th of July Celebration. At 6:00 PM will be the crowning of the 2010 Miss Harmony and Little Miss Harmony at the Selvig Park Gazebo, followed by Charlie Warner at 7:00. In case of rain, all activities will move to the Harmony Community Center located at 225 3rd Ave SW.
A variety of musical entertainment is slated for this year's "Harmony in the Park". On June 30, The Cavaliers, a band featuring old-time, country, and modern tunes, will play, with food served by the Greenleafton Lutheran Sunday School Parents. Les Fields & the Turkey River All-Stars, a well-known country and Dixieland band, will perform on July 7, and the Greenleafton Green Team (Relay for Life) will be serving the food. July 14th entertainment will feature The Irish Minstrels, performing their Irish, Scottish, folk and shanties music. Food service that evening will be provided by the Bodacious Broads (Relay for Life). The Buck Hollow Band, playing on July 21, will feature a variety of music including country and 50's dance music, with The Shooting Stars (Relay for Life) serving food, and on July 28 Marc Frana, a one-man polka band, will perform, and food will again be served by the Bodacious Broads (Relay for Life). The Good Friends will entertain with old-time, country, blue grass and gospel on August 4, with food service by the Harmony Area Historical Society. "Harmony in the Park" concludes on August 11 with Elvis Tribute Artist Brad Boice entertaining. The Harmony Area Chamber of Commerce will provide food that evening.
All concerts begin at 7:00 PM in Selvig Park. Food (sandwiches, beverages, and other treats) will be available at 6:00 PM, and proceeds go to each serving group for their projects. In case of inclement weather, all activities move to the Harmony Community Center.
