2010 marks the 11th annual Miss Harmony Scholarship Pageant, and seven Fillmore Central Seniors are contending for this year's title. Miss Harmony's court includes a 1st attendant, 2nd attendant and Miss Congeniality. The first three are chosen by a team of impartial judges that reside outside of the community. Miss Congeniality is voted on by the Miss Harmony participants, which is a great honor to be chosen by your peers. All four receive scholarships and are as follows: Miss Harmony $600, 1st Attendant $400, 2nd Attendant $200, and Miss Congeniality receives $100. The Miss Harmony Scholarship Pageant is sponsored by the Harmony Area Chamber of Commerce along with additional funding generously provided by area businesses.
The kick-off to the Miss Harmony festivities is the Sponsor Reception held at the Harmony Golf Course. The Miss Harmony participants then spend the following week volunteering for Meals on Wheels and at the Visitor's Center in Harmony, serving popcorn at First Southeast Bank, reading for story hour at the Harmony Public Library, and serving coffee at Harmony Healthcare. They will also have some time to relax and have fun at a pizza and pool party, doing pedicures at Dacia's on Main and grilling hotdogs at a bonfire.
Miss Harmony and her court will represent our fine community by attending local parades and exchanging buttons with other courts. You will also see them volunteering at the Appreciation Dinner, Breakfast with Santa, the State Fair booth and many other events as they happen throughout the year. Please join us as we crown our 11th annual Miss Harmony on June 23rd at Music in the Park!
