Louis LaFevere

Louise LeFevere, age 92, of Spring Valley, Minn., passed away Saturday morning, April 27, 2013, at the Spring Valley Care Center where she had resided since January 2011.

Louise Lena Augusta Linnemeyer was born September 4, 1920, in Wykoff, Minn., the youngest of twelve children born to Henry and Mary (Oldenburg) Linnemeyer. She was baptized, confirmed, married and a life long member of St. John Evangelical Lutheran Church. She attended St. John’s Parochial School through 8th grade and was a graduate of Wykoff High School. As a young woman, she worked at the Wykoff Drug Store.

She married Victor LeFevere September 22, 1939, in Wykoff; a marriage that lasted over 71 years. They farmed and lived on his family farm in Forestville Township, Fillmore Co., until moving into Spring Valley in 1997.

She was a member of the Thriftyville Homemakers, St. John’s Lutheran Ladies Aid and the Farm Bureau. She and a friend presided over Bible Study at the Spring Valley Care Center once a week for 10 years. She enjoyed gardening, embroidering, reading, word find puzzles and special music at the care center.

Her pride and joy was her family. She especially enjoyed playing cards and board games with the grandchildren. She had a strong faith in her Lord and tried to instill that in her family throughout the generations.

Louise is survived by two sons, Verlyn of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, and Verdonn (Mary) of Vinton, Iowa; two daughters, VaLois (Ron) Wilbur of Chatfield and Verdeen (Roger) Reseke of Dysart, Iowa; 22 grandchildren; 39 great-grandchildren; 10 great-great-grandchildren; one great-great-great-granddaughter; plus many nephews and nieces. She was preceded in death by her husband, Victor in 2011; a grandson; son-in-law; her parents; three brothers; and eight sisters.

The funeral was held Wednesday, May 1, 2013, at St. John Evangelical Lutheran Church in Wykoff with Rev. Robert V. Stohlmann, Pastor officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery.

The family would like to thank the Spring Valley Care Center and Olmsted Medical Center staffs for the care given their mother.
