The Mower County Fair will kick off August 10 and run through August 15! With free admission, the Mower County Fair is Affordable Fun For Everyone!
New this year is the Grand Pass! Six grandstand admissions, a $60 value, for only $36! Plus there is additional savings with discounts on the Godfather's Pizza at the Mower County Fair! The grand pass is on sale now at Godfather's Pizza in Austin, Albert Lea, Owatonna, and Rochester. Fairgoers can use the six Grand Pass tickets in any way they choose, one at a time, all at one time, or any combination in between. They are good for any of the six grandstand events!
Fair week will kick off at noon on Tuesday, August 10, with opening ceremonies at fair square. There will be free entertainment all week long including fireworks, livestock shows, 4-H and FFA displays, an eagle show and turkey calling contest, a vehicle fair including a scheduled visit from a US military Blackhawk helicopter, and Cannonball Smith returns to be shot out of a cannon at the Mower County Fair!
Throughout the week fairgoers will be able to spoil themselves with a variety of fair food from more than thirty vendors. There will be long time crowd favorites returning and tasty treats that are new to the Mower County Fair. Shop for new items and new ideas in the Plager building or at one of the outdoor booths.
The grandstand will include motocross, demo derbies, a new bull riding company, a combine demo derby, and NTPA tractor and truck pulls. Once again, there will be drawings in the grandstand for kids bicycles and toy tractors! For many years the Mower County Fair tractor pull has been held on Friday night in the SW corner of the grounds. This year this free event in the grandstand on Saturday morning!
The Don Ritland FFA Children's Farmyard will have hatching chicks, baby animals and their moms, and Reggie the 1,300 pound boar will return! In the creative arts and horticulture buildings friends and neighbors compete for blue ribbons and fairgoers can see their skills! There will be a car show, an eagle show, a turkey calling contest, and Yesteryear Games from fairs of old! Livestock shows, draft horses, steer wrestling, and even old west cowboy shooting skills are all a part of the great free entertainment at the Mower County Fair!
To learn more about the schedule, pick up your fair book at your local library or many other locations. You can go to www.mowercountyfair.com and we are on Facebook too. The Mower County Fair is Affordable Fun For Everyone so come be a part of it August 10-15 in Austin!
