Announcing call for entries for “Rural Americans” exhibit to be held at Lanesboro Art Center

Lanesboro, MN - The Lanesboro Arts Center would like to invite artists to submit an application for inclusion in the upcoming “Rural Americans” exhibit, a juried group show about people and communities in rural America. The exhibit will run June 8 – August 11, 2013. Artists working in all visual arts mediums are welcome to apply.
Deadline for entries is April 30, 2013. Each artist may submit 1-5 entries to be considered for the exhibit, with each entry featuring or having something to do with rural Americans. For each entry, please submit an image of the work and indicate medium, dimension and retail price; include artist’s name, address, phone, email and website. Email this information to gallery@lanesboroarts.org with ‘Rural Americans entry’ in the subject line, or call Robbie Brokken at 507-467-2446 for more details. Application can also be mailed via the postal service (in this case please send a CD and written list with the above information) to Lanesboro Arts Center, PO Box 152, Lanesboro, MN 55949.
If accepted for the “Rural Americans” exhibit, artwork must be delivered to the Lanesboro Arts Center by 4 p.m. on Monday, June 3; work must be identified on the back and be framed with hanging wire. Participating artists are invited to be present at the opening reception on Saturday, June 8 from 6-8 p.m.. Following the exhibit, work will need to be picked up from the gallery by Tuesday, August 13. The “Rural Americans” exhibit is sponsored by F&M Community Bank and supported by the Minnesota State Arts Board and KTTC Television.
The Lanesboro Arts Center galleries are handicapped accessible and are located at 103 Parkway Ave. N. in Lanesboro, Minnesota. The Lanesboro Arts Center has been providing year-round arts programming for more than twenty-five years. Its mission is to serve as a regional catalyst for artistic excellence and educational development in providing diverse art experiences for people of all ages.
