Winneshiek Medical Center invites the community to share health concerns: Mabel listening session March 20

Winneshiek Medical Center is seeking community input on the health needs of northeast Iowa and southeast Minnesota though an online survey and local listening sessions.
Called a Community Health Needs Assessment, the survey is designed to gather information on unmet health needs in the area. Gretchen Dahlen, chief administrative officer, Winneshiek Medical Center said, “We are working in conjunction with County Public Health to learn more about the health of our communities, and will collaborate with our partners to address needs not currently being met.” The Community Health Needs Assessment must be conducted every three years. Ms. Dahlen adds, “The assessment will help us better understand - and ultimately improve - the health of residents in Winneshiek County and surrounding areas.”
Winneshiek Medical Center invites the public to complete an online survey addressing potential health concerns. The survey is open now through March 22, 2013, and can be found on the Winneshiek Medical Center website (winmedical.org) or directly by typing in the web address: https://www.surveymonkey.com/s/WMC_Community_Health_Assessment
Survey questions are conveniently organized into five categories and should take about 10 minutes to complete.
Additionally, the public and local leaders are invited to attend a community input session in Mabel on Wednesday, March 20 from 4-5:30 at the Mabel Community Center. Winneshiek Medical Center leadership and Mabel Clinic providers will be present to discuss and gather community input.
Ms. Dahlen said, “We appreciate the thoughtful participation of community members. Input from citizens is the most authentic way for us to understand the health needs in our area.”
