Nina Helen Miller, 85, of Rushford, died Friday, February 22, 2013 at Gundersen Lutheran Medical Center in La Crosse.
The ninth child of eleven siblings, Nina was born November 6, 1927 in La Crosse to Simon and Inga (Almus) Christianson. She attended school in Mindoro, WI. On December 30, 1950, she married Warren “Bud” Miller. Nina was a member of the Rushford Lutheran Church and American Legion Auxiliary. For over 25 years, Nina worked for Herff Jones, later Camera Art, and retired as a supervisor on March 15, 1998. In her spare time, she enjoyed sewing, baking and decorating cakes, and playing bridge with her friends on Tuesday afternoons. Nina enjoyed spending time with her family, especially grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Nina is survived by her sons, Bill (Joyce) Miller of Rushford, Bob Miller of Minneapolis, and David (Tiffany) Miller of Isanti; 6 grandchildren and 3 step-grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren; sister, Evelyn Gilbertson; brother, Manley Christianson; sister-in-law, Marilyn Davis; and many nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Warren in 2005; 4 sisters; and 4 brothers.
Memorial service will be held at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday, February 26, 2013 at Rushford Lutheran Church with visitation two hours prior. Reverend Roger Michaelson will officiate. A private graveside service will be held in the spring in Rushford Lutheran Cemetery.
