Phyllis Joann McCarthy, 78, of Lanesboro passed away Sunday, February 10, 2013, at the harmony Community Healthcare Center.
Phyllis Joann Borgen was born January 16, 1935, in Lanesboro to Gerhardt and Cecilia (Pfremme) Borgen. She went to school in Lanesboro, and graduated from the Lanesboro High School. She joined the U.S. Air Force as a WAF from 1954 to 1957. She married Charles McCarthy in 1957 in Puerto Rico, he was also in the Air Force with the treasury department. They moved back to Lanesboro in 1989. She was a secretary.
Phyllis was an active member of the Lighthouse Church in Rochester.
She is survived by one daughter, Kathryn (Steven) McCaslin of Warner Robins, Ga.; and one granddaughter, Lilith McCaslin of Warner Robins, Ga.
She was preceded in death by her parents, and her husband.
Funeral services were held Friday, February 15, at Riley Funeral Home in Chatfield, with Roland Burt officiating. Burial was in Calvary Cemetery in Preston.
