Several months after a severe car accident friends and family of the Dennis Jeche family are putting together a benefit to help with expenses. Dennis, Brenda, and Ashley Jeche were involved in a the car accident in Goodhue County on October 20, 2012.
As a result of the car accident all of the Jeche family suffered from serious injuries. Brenda was admitted to the hospital with a concussion and also had fluid on the brain.
Dennis was hospitalized and suffered from multiple fractured ribs, a punctured lung, bruised kidneys, and also a separated right shoulder. Dennis has had one surgery on his right shoulder and will be facing a second surgery on the shoulder in the future.
Ashley was in the hospital with many serious injuries including a punctured lung, a fractured right clavicle, fractured vertebrae and multiple broken ribs on the right side of her body. She has had several surgeries to reconstruct her clavicle and her severely broken ribs.
Due to the serious multiple injuries each family member sustained in the car accident, the Jeche family will not be able to return to work for a long period of time. Brenda has returned to work at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minn., but on a very limited basis. Dennis, who works for Griffin Construction of Chatfield, Minn., will be unable to return to work for several months. Ashley works for Shari’s Sport Saloon & Lanes and will be unable to return to work for many months as well.
The benefit is being organized by Shari Allen, owner of Shari’s Sports Saloon & Lanes, as well as Cheyanne Baker and Amanda Karver among others. The money raised from the benefit and any other donations will go to the Jeche family to offset medical expenses. All funds raised will be matched by the West Fillmore Thrivent Branch #31189.
The benefit for the Jeche family will be held Saturday, February 23, 2013. It will be held at the Chatfield Lutheran Church located at 304 Fillmore Street SE in Chatfield, Minn. Starting at 3:00 p.m. there will be a bake sale, meal, and silent auction lasting until 7:00 p.m. followed by a live auction from 7:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
The bake sale will include many homemade and additional items for attendees to purchase and take home. The meal will include pulled pork sandwiches, au gratin potatoes, and corn. Auction items include gift baskets, gift certificates, an afghan, and a quilt with more items being donated every day.
An account has been set up at the F & M Bank in Chatfield, Minn., located at 229 N. Main Street. Contact the following people with questions about the benefit or to donate: Shari Allen at (507) 259-2159, Cheyanne Baker at (507) 951-5031, or Amanda Karver at (507) 259-7543.
