To the Editor,
Here are a few gems highlighting liberal brilliance.
“We have to pass the bill so that you can find out what is in it.” -Nancy Pelosi
“I’ve now been in 57 states? I think one left to go?” -Barack Obama
“Thank God, I’m still alive.” But, of course, those who died, their lives will never be the same again.” -Barbara Boxer, Senator about a San Francisco earthquake.
“Politics gives guys so much power that they tend to behave badly around women. And I hope I never get into that.” -Bill Clinton.
“I propose a limitation be put on how many squares of toilet paper can be used in any one sitting.” -Singer Sheryl Crowe
“I believe religion is a neurological disorder.” -“Comedian” Bill Maher
“When the stock market crashed, Franklin D. Roosevelt got on the television and didn’t just talk about the, you know, the princes of greed. He said, ‘Look, here’s what happened.” -Joe Biden
“The conventional viewpoint says we need a jobs program and we need to cut welfare. Just the opposite! We need more welfare and fewer jobs.” -Jerry Brown California governor.
“Don’t fear the terrorists. They’re mothers and fathers.” -Rosie O’Donnell
“During my service in the United States Congress, I took the initiative in creating the Internet.” -Al Gore
“A zebra does not change its spots.” -Al Gore
Do we reinforce our political views based on a version of trivial pursuit gottchas? We really should make decisions about politics based on principles and performance. Afterall everyone gets their tangs all tungled up sooner or later.
